Committees
Government Affairs Committee
The role of the Government Affairs Committee is to raise the awareness of SAAR Members of the importance of their civic involvement at the local level; to recommend and coordinate actions pertaining to state and local legislation, including zoning and other regulations, affecting the real estate industry; to coordinate all legislative actions with NAR and AAR when appropriate. (The Government Affairs Committee is not a “Lobbying Group”. Any actions proposed must have the approval of the Board of Directors.)
Meeting Times
The Government Affairs Committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at SAAR. The meetings begin promptly at 2:00 PM. Each month there is a guest speaker to address timely and pertinent issues affecting your business as a Professional REALTOR®. Following the monthly speaker, the general business meeting is held.
